Rosneft and the Far Eastern Shipbuilding and Ship Repair Center (FESRC) signed contracts for delivery of two unique multi-purpose supply vessels of reinforced ice-class Icebreaker 7, Rosneft says in a press release.
The document envisages delivery of the first two Zvezda Shipyard built vessels at the end of 2019 and during the first half of 2020.
Considering the implemented options for the last year contracts, Rosneft order is already four vessels of this type.
The contracts signed to expand the agreements made in 2014-2015 (placement of Rosneft marine facilities orders at FESRC production capacities) will make it possible to provide pilot workload for Zvezda shipyard and reduce opex for offshore fields development by using own fleet.
Delivery of high tech supply vessels is an important step towards the implementation of Rosneft large scale program of offshore fields’ development in extreme climates.
In turn, RESRC, with the increased number of reliable contracts, will be able to raise the implementation efficiency of the project for development of the Far Eastern Ship Building Cluster and to ensure balanced operations of the Zvezda Shipyard.
