In January-September 2016, JSC Rosterminalugol (port Ust-Luga, Leningrad Region) handled 13.1 mln t of coal, up 1.3%, year-on-year, says the Company.
According to the statement, this result was achieved through joint logistic efforts of Rosterminalugol OJSC and Managing Port Company LLC.
The cargo shipped by Rosterminalugol is delivered mostly to Europe. However, in the 9-month period of 2016 coal shipments from Ust-Luga to Izrael increased by almost 100%. Besides, two new directions were launched in 2016 – India and Malaysia. Over 300,000 t of Russian coal were shipped there.
From the beginning of the year the company loaded 199 vessels. 108,872 t of coal was loaded onto M/V Magsenger 6 at the terminal of Rosterminalugol JSC (Ust-Luga) on September 18, 2016. The company says it is the largest consignment in the history of its operation.
JSC Rosterminalugol was established in 1996 to build and operate the coal terminal at the port of Ust-Luga (Baltic Sea). The Company specializes in loading / unloading operations, freight forwarding services, building and maintenance of facilities at the coal terminal located in the Ust-Luga Bay of the Gulf of Finland. The terminal has two berths of total length of 540 meters with depth of 14 meters. The terminal is able to accommodate vessels of up to 240 m in length and 32.2 m in breadth. In 2015, coal exports via the terminal rose 13%, year-on-year, to 17.5 mln t.
