Baltic Fuel Company (BFC) says it has obtained a final permit from the Federal Marine and River Transport Agency (Rosmorrechflot) for construction of Marine Oil Terminal “Turukhtanniye Islands" within the Big Port St. Petersburg. This document approves construction of the entire complex of assets.
The permit for construction of this terminal issued by Rosmorrechflot in April 2016 covered only the capital facilities related to the artificial plot of land. According to the explanations of RF Ministry of Construction, Housing and Utilities (BFC obtained the document in July 2016), Rosmorrechflot is the only body authorized to issue permits for construction of sea terminals at the seaports of the Russian Federation if the construction of technologically bound facilities is carried out simultaneously within the port territory and an on artificial plots of land.
Marine Oil Terminal “Turukhtanniye Islands" currently consists of a 7.3-hecare plot of land and two berths for transshipment of oil products. The terminal’s annual throughput is to be increased to 2.4 mln t by 2017 and to 4-5 mln t by 2020.
