Maintenance dredging to be performed at the berths of Salmanovsky oil and gas condensate field (Gulf of Ob)

A presentation of the project on maintenance dredging within the water area of berth facilities at Salmanovsky (Utrenny) oil and gas condensate field was held yesterday, 1 November 2016, at the Department for Regulation of Natural Resources of the Yamal-Nenets Autonomous District, say press center of the regional authorities.

The project customer is Arctic LNG 2 LLC.

The Salmanovsky oil and gas condensate field is located on the western shore of the Gydansky peninsula in the Gulf of Ob.

The site of dredging works is located in the Gulf of Ob (Kara Sea), 70 km north of the nearest settlement. Sabetta workers settlement is more than 60 km north-west of the site.

Total area of the berth facilities at Salmanovsky (Utrenny) field is 8.95 hectares. The area subject to maintenance dredging is 6.46 hectares. Maintenance dredging is to be performed there once in two years from 2017 through 2022.

Underwater dump area is 34 km from the site of dredging works. The works are to last for 81 days. The period including surveying work is 108 days.

Specialists of Eco-Express-Service LLC have offered possible variants of dredging works in the Gulf of Ob.

Documentation for construction of berth facilities at Salmanovsky (Utrenny) field passed public  discussions and obtained state environmental approval in 2014.
