Four icebreakers – Admiral Makarov, Magadan, Kapitan Khlebnikov and Krasin – fall under economic jurisdiction of FSUE Rosmorport. The icebreakers were previously run by FESCO Transportation Group. The transition procedure was held in Vladivostok on 14 November 2016, Rosmorport says in a press release.
The acceptance/delivery certificate was signed by Andrei Tarasenko, Director General of FSUE Rosmorport, and Yury Belenets, Head of the Primorsky Territory Department of Federal Property Management Agency.
The icebreakers will be deployed in the Far East Basin, at Vninom Magadan and Prigorodnoye seaports as well as in other water areas depending on the winter navigation conditions. The vessels’ task will be to provide icebreaker assistance to ships in the water area and at the approaches to the ports.
