Ship Repair Centre ‘Zvezdochka’ (United Shipbuilding Corporation JSC) says it has delivered the packages of propeller components to ABB Oy Marine and Ports (Finland).
Under the contract Zvezdochka has manufactured 12 stainless steel blades and 3 stainless steel hubs for propellers that will be installed on an Arctic gas carrier of the Yamal project which is under construction in Korea by Daewoo Shipbuilding&Marine Engineering Co. Each propeller weighs 39 t and has a diameter of 6 m.
One more propeller component package has been manufacture ad delivered for being installed on the Alesandr Sannikov icebreaker of Icebreaker 8 class (Project Arc130A). The icebreaker which is under construction at Vyborg Shipyard for Gazprom Neft will be deployed at the Arctic oil terminal operated by LLC Gazprom Neft Novy Port in the Gulf of Ob (Yamal peninsula). The contract for supply of the three propellers will be fulfilled throughout the year of 2017.
Severodvinsk, Russia based Ship Repair Centre ‘Zvezdochka’ is a diversified shipbuilding enterprise. The shipyard has two covered slipways, 7 shipbuilding yards, specializing in repair and construction of vessels with a launching weight of up to 18,000 tonnes. The firm is majority owned by Northern Shipbuilding and Ship Repair Centre, part of JSC United Shipbuilding Corporation.
