Navigation on the Neva river and waterways of Saint-Petersburg will open on 14 April 2017. The decision was made on 4 April 2017 at the meeting of the Administration of Inland Water Ways of Volga-Baltic Basin (Volga-Baltic Administration) attended by representatives of major ship owning companies, IAA PortNews cites Arkady Birger, head of the service for vessel traffic regulation at the Administration.

According to him, Volga-Baltic Administration is in charge of aids to navigation on the Neva river.

According to the order of Rosmorrechflot, navigation on the Neva river should begin on 30 April with a possibility for earlier beginning in case of favourable weather which is to be done this year, as usual, said Arkady Birger.
