Russian Maritime Register of Shipping (RS) says it will participate in 22nd International Exhibition for Transport and Logistics Services and Technologies to be held 18 - 20 April 2017 in Crocus Expo International Exhibition Center, Moscow.
The range of services intended for the container industry enterprises and organizations and being developed by RS for already 40 years will be presented at the RS stand. Development of regulatory and technical requirements addressing the improvement of container transportation safety and taking into consideration the industry needs; RS participation in the applied research, elaboration of innovative container types and implementation of advanced technologies in their manufacture; RS participation in the international and national organizations effecting the containerization-related policy are among the items to be covered.
At present, RS has introduced in its rules the requirements for tank containers with fiber-reinforced (FRP) shells related to design, service and repair of this transport equipment. In future, the participation of all the interested parties will be required for generating the uniform international requirements to materials, structure, manufacture and testing of tank containers with FRP shells. Introducing of the above requirements in the international documents (in particular, the International Maritime Dangerous Goods Code) withdraws a restriction existing now for such transport equipment during the multimodal handling and will apply it for the for the international transportation by every type of transport including sea transport.
The Russian tank container with FRP shell for transportation of deleterious substances (hydrochloric acid, orthophosphoric acid and caustic-soda solution) has been designed and put into operational testing with the RS participation. The first Russian hi-tech tank containers for the carriage of liquid helium and liquid hydrogen; cryogenic containers for the carriage by various kinds of transport, storage of liquefied natural gas and application as a filling tank are among the current projects with the RS participation.
Advice on various aspect of the RS technical supervision, including the survey of containers, materials and products manufactured both in Russia and abroad may be provided at the RS stand.
