Port of Singapore throughput up 6.9% to 152 mln t in QI’2017
Cargo volumes handled at the Port of Singapore in January-March 2017 rose 6.9%, year-on-year, to 152 million tonnes, the Port Authority statistics showed.
The volume of oil cargo increased by 17.1% to 59.7 million tonnes, while non-oil bulk cargo edged up by 1% to 4.36 million tonnes.
The port’s container throughput climbed by 3% to 7.61 mln TEUs.
Singapore is the city-state located on an island in Southeast Asia. In 2016, container traffic at Port of Singapore reached 30.9 TEUs, total cargo throughput was 593.3 million tonnes.
