Dalmorneftegeofizika, JSC (Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk, the enterprise is a part of Rosgeologia Governmental Holding Company) has completed the processing of the results of complex regional geophysical surveys in the offshore area of the northern part of the Kuril Islands in the Pacific Ocean.
The data processing was carried out in the enterprise computing centre. High quality seismic data in the volume of 4,300 linear km have been prepared for their further interpretation in order to study the geological plot of the sedimentary cover and regional structural and tectonic plan of the sedimentary basin of DMNG (Dalmorneftegeofisika) in the offshore area of the northern part of the Kuril Islands in the Pacific Ocean.
The company keeps working with the materials. Use of these materials will allow in the future to identify and outline potential oil-and-gas accumulation zones and sites in the area, assess the potential of the oil-source bed and its stratigraphic confinedness, provide the prediction on the existence of reservoir intervals and impermeable rocks. The geologists of Dalmorneftegeofizika are also tasked to estimate the hydrocarbon predicted resources in the site by the category D2 and to develop recommendations for further geological prospecting works. Dalmorneftegeofizika shall finish the work on the project by the end of 2018.
The research is carried out under a government contract on processing and complex interpretation of geological and geophysical data obtained during geological survey, funded from the federal budget, in 2014-2016 in the Siberian and Volga Federal Districts and the Russian Federation shelf for the purpose of updating the geological structure and identifying new promising sites for hydrocarbon resources. The government contract was signed between Rosgeologia and the Subsoil Management Department for the Central Siberian District Department in September 2016. Dalmorneftegeofizika JSC is a subcontractor for works related to the offshore area of the Kuril Islands.
