Volga-Baltic transit to be opened from April 30

Volgo-Balt Administration expects transit navigation to be opened on April 30, at 09:00 Moscow time, depending on ice clearance.

Vessels with required ice-class or holding a permit for a single voyage (if there is reliable information on ice situation) are allowed to sail in ice waters independently.

Navigation in periods of darkness is not recommended.

95% of the Onega lake is covered with ice. Ice thickness at the hydrological station of Petrozavodsk - 34 cm, Medvezhyegorsk - 39 cm, Kondopoga – 49 cm, Longasy – 46 cm. On the White lake: Kinsema - 34 cm (as of April 20), Belozersk – 28 cm (as of April 25).
