Container Terminal Saint-Petersburg handled 157,600 TEUs in QI’2017, up 7.8% Y-o-Y

Container volumes at JSC “Container terminal Saint-Petersburg” (CTSP, member of UCL Holding) in Q1 2017 amounted to 157 600 TEU (7,8% more than in Q1 2016).

After the first three months of 2017 CTSP remains a leading sea container terminal in Russia. CTSP’s share among the terminal operators in the Baltic basin, including the Baltic States and Finland, is approximately 13%. CTSP’s share in the ports of St. Petersburg and Ust-Luga remains at 30%.

Import traffic amounted to 71 000 TEU (up 6,7% year-on-year), including 17 400 TEU of refrigerated cargoes. Export flow grew by 8,7% to 86 100 TEU. Full export amounted to 42,9% of the total throughput.

Export and import volumes accounted for 55% and 45% of overall container throughput, respectively.

In the first three months of 2017 the terminal handled 138 calls with the average call size 1 100 TEU. The volume of cargo removed by rail amounted to 30%.

Container terminal Saint-Petersburg (member of UCL Port, stevedoring division of the international transportation group UCL Holding) is a modern container handling facility in the 4th cargo handling area of the Big port of Saint-Petersburg. In 2016 the terminal handled 557 800 TEU.
