RF Navy's Northern Fleet starts planned combat training in the Barents Sea
On May 20, the Northern Fleet’s four tactical ship groups and one rescue detachment have begun to fulfil the planned combat training tasks in the coastal ranges of the Barents Sea, says press center of RF Defence Ministry.
Among participants there are Marshal Ustinov missile cruiser, Aleksandr Otrakovsky mayor landing ship, small antisubmarine and missile ships, coastal minesweepers, rescue tug and diving vessel.
During the day, the joint tasks are to be worked out by the tactical ship groups composed of six warships of the Kola Flotilla of All-Arms Forces, a formation of missile ships and two ships of control over search and rescue operations. Their training tasks are as follows: mutual manoeuvring, interaction with aviation, search of a submarine, air defence of the Fleet’s forces, search and rescue support of a ship in distress.
