Vyborg Shipyard hosted meeting focused on localization of ship equipment production in the Russian Federation

Vyborg Shipyard, part of United Shipbuilding Corporation, says it held a round-table meeting "Localization of ship equipment production in the Russian Federation. Prospects for civil shipbuilding". The meeting participants discussed issues concerning principles of cooperation with suppliers, conditions and criteria for localization of ship equipment production as well as development of civil shipbuilding.
The round table was attended by Deputy Head of Shipbuilding Industry and Marine Facilities Department of the RF Ministry of Industry and Trade Nikolay Shablikov, Vice President of United Shipbuilding Corporation Andrey Buzinov and representatives of the largest ship equipment suppliers. Besides, the potential production sites in the Far Eastern territories and in the North-West region of Russia were discussed at the meeting. In addition, the representatives of the Astrakhan region made a presentation of the special economic zone "Lotos".

Vyborg Shipyard PJSC (part of state-owned United Shipbuilding Corporation from 2012) is one of the largest shipbuilding companies of the North-Western Region of Russia with over 65-years’ experience in shipbuilding. The shipyard’s order backlog of RUB 43 bln covers the period of several years. Vyborg Shipyard employs about 1,300 Vyborg citizens and involves some 500 contractors.
