The Kaliningrad Region hopes for the construction of a terminal in Pionersky to begin in summer-autumn 2017. As Anton Alikhanov, Acting Governor of the Kaliningrad Region, told journalists, regional authorities have developed a request for RF Government to assign a sole contractor of the construction works as the tender was declared void.
“If we are supported, I hope the decision will be made by the end of summer and we will be able to begin. It depends on many factors that are beyond our control,” said the Governor.
According to Anton Alikhanov, the competence of the regional authorities covers the development of utilities. “I think implementation of the utilities project will serve as an additional argument for resuming the port construction”, said Acting Governor of the Kaliningrad Region.
