Krasnoye Sormovo delivers two chemical tankers of Project RST27 to shipping company Volgotrans (photo)
Krasnoye Sormovo shipyard (Nizhny Novgorod, United Shipbuilding Corporation) says it has delivered two chemical tankers of Project RST27 to shipping company Volgotrans LLC as scheduled.
Krasnoye Sormovo PJSC, Volgotrans LLC and Goznak-leasing CJSC signed the three-party contracts for supply of two chemical tankers of improved Project RST27 on October 27, 2015.
The tankers were launched in March and May 2017. Upon successful completion of mooring and sea trials the vessels have been delivered to Volgotrans: the first tanker was delivered on July 10, the second – on July 24.
Krasnoye Sormovo has thus continued the largest series of tankers in domestic shipbuilding which numbers more than 20 units vessels built by the shipyard. All of them are successfully operated at inland water ways of Russia and other countries.
The vessels are designed for mixed (river-sea) shipping of a wide range of liquid bulk cargo. Class notation: КМ (*) Ice1 R2 AUT1-ICS OMBO VCS ECO-S Oil tanker /Chemical tanker type 2 (vegetable oil) (ESP) of the Russian Maritime Register of Shipping.
Main particulars of Project RST27: LOA: 140.85 m, breadth: 16.7 m, depth: 6.0 m, DWT in fresh water (draft 3.6 m): 5,378 tonnes, DWT in salt water (draft 4.2 m): 6,980 tonnes.
The RST27 vessels were designed by Marine Engineering Bureau with detailed design provided by Nizhny Novgorod based engineering firm Volga-Caspian Design Bureau.
