Russia's Southern Transport Prosecutor's Office has launched investigation in the case of sinking in the Black Sea of dry cargo ship Anda, the prosecutor's office press release said.
The Togo flagged ship sank July 29, 2017 nearly 22 miles south off Cape Sarych, Republic of Crimea. Eight crew members have been rescued and evacuated. One crew member is reported missing and searching operation continues. The Prosecutor's Office is conducting a probe into compliance with the federal legislation on safety of shipping.
Crimean Central Investigation Department's Transport Investigations Division has opened a criminal case under Part 2, Art. 263 of the Criminal Code (violation of traffic safety and operation of maritime and inland waterway transport) and will supervise the investigation into the case.
