CTSP box throughput in H1 2017 rose 10.7% to 319,000 TEUs
Container traffic at Container terminal Saint-Petersburg JSC (CTSP, part of UCL Holding) in the January-June period handled 319,000 TEUs, which represents a 10.7% growth y-o-y.
In the reporting period CTSP handled 142,700 TEUs of import containers, including 35,700 TEUs of reefer containers, a 9.5% gain Y/Y. Handling of export containers rose 11.7% to 176,300 TEUs, 73.6% of them were laden containers.
In the total half-year container throughput exports accounted for 55% and imports – 45%.
CTSP handled 271 vessel with an average cargo of 1,200 TEUs per ship.
Rail containers volume accounted for 30% of all shipments.
By the half-year performance results CTSP retains a leading position among other sea container terminals in Russia. Its market share among other ports of St. Petersburg and Ust-Luga totaled 32%.
Container terminal Saint-Petersburg (member of UCL Port, a stevedoring division of the international transportation group UCL Holding) is a modern container handling facility located in the 4th Cargo Handling Area of Big Port St. Petersburg. In 2016 CTSP handled 557,800 TEUs.
