Rosmorport's branch takes delivery of new HSC Luchisty
The HSC Luchisty was transferred to the North-West Basin branch of FSUE Rosmorport. The boat is third in a series of Project 1100 hydrographic survey vessels, which was built at Astron-Marine LLC Shipyard based in St. Petersburg, Russia. Rosmorport says the boat Luchisty became the 10th ship of navigation support operated by the North-West Basin branch, and the 60th vessel in the entire fleet of the branch.
The vessel has state-of-the-art electric and radio navigation equipment, a multibeam echo sounder for seabed measurements in the basin of Big Port St. Petersburg. The hydrographic boat features good maneuverability and shallow draft, which makes it suitable for sounding in shallow waters.
The ship design enables quick lowering / lifting of echo sounder when moving to another area of work, and also excludes its damage during mooring and in ice conditions. At present, a set of documents is being prepared to obtain a classification certificate for the vessel.
Once the necessary permits obtained the ship in September 2017 may commence hydrographic work in Big Port St. Petersburg. The vessel was named after her multibeam echosounder.
