Port of Singapore throughput up 5.1% to 413.2 mln t in 8M’17

Cargo volumes handled at the Port of Singapore in January-August  2017 rose 5.1%, year-on-year, to 413.2 million tonnes, the Port Authority statistics showed.

The volume of oil cargo increased by 4.1% to 151.2 million tonnes and of non-oil bulk cargo – by 4% to 12.5 million tonnes. 

The port’s container throughput rose by 7.3% to 21.97 mln TEUs.

Singapore is the city-state located on an island in Southeast Asia. In 2016, container traffic at Port of Singapore reached 30.9 TEUs, total cargo throughput was 593.3 million tonnes.
