The entire infrastructure under the project on Comprehensive Development of Murmansk Transport Hub, including energy and railway infrastructure is to be developed by the end of 2019, Murmansk Region Governor Marina Kovtun said at the meeting on arranging supply of power to consumers under the project.
According to the press center of the regional government, the meeting participants discussed the details of building power complex facilities and ensuring technological connection of MTH facilities to the power networks.
In her opening speech the Governor reminded about the decision to build a 330 kV substation “Murmanskaya” to provide power supply to new MTH facilities and to ensure reliable supply of electricity. Investment programme of FGC UES (Federal Grid Company of United Energy System) includes the relevant investment project with the year of 2019 set as a deadline for implementation. Special measures have been also planned by IDGC of North-West (Interregional Distribution Grid Company of North-West).
“As for the future of the MTH project, it remains unchanged. As you know, while on his visit at the Murmansk Region on April 21, Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev emphasized the strategic character of the project and gave instructions to complete it by 2020. So, the entire infrastructure, including energy and railway infrastructure, is to be completed by the end of 2019”, said Marina Kovtun.
This issue was also considered at the meeting on the opportunities for developing transport infrastructure in Northwest Russia held by Vladimir Putin in Kaliningrad on August 16. Following the meeting RF President endorsed a list of instructions according to which RF Government is to undertake extensive measures on implementation of the Project on Comprehensive Development of the Murmansk Transport Hub within the established deadlines.
