Cargo volumes handled at the Port of Singapore in January-September 2017 rose 5.7%, year-on-year, to 465.99 million tonnes, the Port Authority statistics showed.
The volume of oil cargo increased by 5.9% to 171.82 million tonnes, while non-oil bulk cargo volume edged up 0.7% to 13.71 million tonnes.
The port’s container throughput rose by 7.5% to 24.77 mln TEUs.
Singapore is the city-state located on an island in Southeast Asia. In 2016, container traffic at Port of Singapore reached 30.9 TEUs, total cargo throughput was 593.3 million tonnes.
