Ferry vessel “Barda” of Azerbaijan Caspian Shipping Company is put into operation

he overhaul of ferry vessel "Barda", belonging to the company’s Transport Fleet is completed. The vessel passed the sea trials.

Thus, major repairs of the steering and auxiliary device, engine mechanisms, and pumps of various purposes, main and auxiliary engines of the ferry vessel was finished. Some parts are replaced with new ones. Also, laying of the boiler, engine cooling pipes, and anchor device of the vessel was carried out. The cleaning and priming works of underwater and above-water parts, railway wagon deck of the vessel with the subsequent painting of the specified parts was completed.

All necessary verification and repairs of the automation, navigation equipment and electrical nodes of the vessel was carried out.

Due to results of trials the vessel was given all necessary permission by Register to operate.

The ferry vessel operates on the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route and carries out regular carriage of railway wagons along the Baku-Turkmenbashi-Baku, Baku-Aktau-Baku, Baku-Kuryk-Baku route.

It should be noted that the length of the ferry is 154.50, the width is 17.0 meters, and the maximum speed is 13.9 knots. The ferry hold 54 railway wagons.

Azerbaijan Caspian Shipping Company is the only ferry operator in the Caspian. The fleet of the Shipping Company currently consists of 13 ferries.
