EUROGATE’s SWOP subsidiary is now also offering its packing services in Bremerhaven, the company said in its press release. On 15 October 2017, SWOP opened its own business premises located just 1.5 kilometres from the Bremerhaven container terminal. SWOP, which has its head office in Hamburg, has previously offered its packing services in Bremerhaven through partner contractors. However, the positive order development and increased freight volumes have now prompted the company to set up its own office in Bremerhaven.
In future, project, out-of-gauge, heavy-lift or fragile loads will be safely packed for transport by sea on a warehouse area of 5,800 m² and an outdoor area the size of three football pitches (24,000 m²). Goods can be stored here frost-free, secured by alarms and CCTV. Coupled, the indoor cranes can shift weights of up to 60 tonnes, equivalent to an A319 aircraft without fuel.
