In January-March 2018, the Port of HaminaKotka (Finland) handled 3.97 million tonnes of cargo (+14.9%, year-on-year). According to the port authorities, transshipment of export cargo climbed by 4.8% to 2.79 million tonnes including 737,420 tonnes of paper (+7.9%), 365,300 tonnes of cellulose (-20%), 559,180 tonnes of liquid bulk cargo (+1.2%) and 427,990 tonnes of dry bulk cargo (+76%).
Transshipment of import cargo grew by 48.4% to 1.18 million tonnes including 296,450 tonnes of unitized cargo (+8.9%), 208,960 tonnes of dry bulk (+78.7%) and 291,800 tonnes of liquid bulk cargo (+31.6%) .
Transshipment of transit cargo grew by 37.3% to 1.1 million tonnes, domestic traffic dropped by 55.7% to 79,420 tonnes.
Transshipment of containers fell by 1.1% to 176,900 TEUs, transshipment of Ro-Ro cargo fell by 8.3% - to 3,459 units.
The number of calls grew by 5.4% to 660 calls.

Port of Kotka comprises ports of Mussalo, Hietanen, Kantasatama, berth Puolanlaituri (Polish berth), berth Halla, and also port premises Sunila. Port of Hamina is the eastern port of Finland located 35 km from the Russian border. In 2017, the port handled 14.66 mln t of cargo.
