Azerbaijan Caspian Shipping Company says "Safety Day" was held for its management.
During the event, the incidents recorded in the world shipping industry last year were considered, and the reasons were noted. Also, the participants of the event were provided with information on innovations.
The incidents recorded in the Azerbaijan Caspian Shipping Company in the fourth quarter of last year were described at the meeting. The results of the external audit conducted by the American Bureau of Shipping (ABS) in the Shipping Company in November 2017, as well as the changes made to the Safety and Quality Management System for the last three months were considered. The event followed with reports on the condition of the fleets and statistics of the Quality, Health, Safety and Environment (QHSE) in the entites for the fourth quarter of 2017 were presented, as well as repeated mistakes at the offices and exchange of views on the above issues.
During the event, it was demonstrated an instruction on the safety of passengers on the board of "General Asadov" vessel, owned by the Caspian Shipping Company, while transportation of oilmen. So, the focus was on such issues as the work completed in the past quarter and the challenges ahead.
Alekber Azizli, the Head of the Department of Quality, Health, Safety and Environmental Protection ((QHSE) delivered a detailed report, noting that the safety issues in the Shipping Company are the focus of constant attention. The head of the department also stated that the Shipping Company has strict safety requirements, which are subject to mandatory compliance by each employee.
In the course of the event, detailed information was also provided on the training sessions organized by the Caspian Sea Shipping Company on security issues, and the importance of such trainings was emphasized. It was stated that due to education, a significant decrease in the number of accidents was registered. At the same time, the special role of ongoing investigations and accident analyzes was emphasized.
