Ceremonial opening of the cruise season of 2018 has been held at Moscow’s Northern river terminal. According to IAA PortNews correspondent, two passenger ships, the Mikhail Bulgakov and the Konstantin Simonov, have left for the first voyage today.
Victor Vovk, deputy head of Federal Marine and River Transport Agency (Rosmorrechflot) congratulated the ceremony participants with the beginning of the cruise season. He emphasized that the state has done a lot to prepare river infrastructure for the season: passenger berths had been repaired in Staraya Ladoga and in Tatarstan, construction works are in full swing at two hydrosystems (the Bagayevsky and the Nizhegorodsky), two new cruise ships are under construction by Russian shipyards. That will let river voyages more comfortable and safe.
All motor ships of River Alliance that comprises three leading companies of the industry – Vodohod, Mosturflot and Infoflot – are ready for the navigation season of 2018.
