Crimean Bridge motorway section opened to traffic
The Crimean Bridge motorway section has been opened to traffic today, 16 May 2018, from 5:30, Moscow time. According to the Crimean Bridge information center, citizens of more than 20 towns of the Crimea and the Kuban were the first to cross the Kerch Strait by the new highway.
The streams of cars driving from Kerch and Taman met on the arch section.
Maximum speed allowed at the bridge and at the approaches is 90 km/h, stopping is prohibited. The bridge is equipped with 10 automatic facilities to control observance of traffic regulations.
All data flow to the control center of the bridge operation service on the Taman peninsula.
As Kremlin said earlier, Vladimir Putin took part in the opening ceremony of the Crimean Bridge motorway section and drove the lead vehicle of the construction equipment convoy.
