Taganrog Sea Commercial Port increased allocations under its environmental programme
In the first quarter of 2018, AO Taganrog Sea Commercial Port (TSCP, a company of UCL Holding) spent USD 28,300 for implementation of its environmental programme. TSCP says it is 54% more as compared with the same period of the previous year.
In the reporting period, TSCP performed a number of activities aimed at stabilization and gradual improvement of environment in the zones where impact of the company on air environment, natural water bodies and bioresources is possible. The activities held under the programme on production control and environmental safety included quality monitoring and bacteriological survey of sea water, observation of water protection area and protected shoreline belt. The company renewed the upper layer of the berths to prevent pollution of the port’s water area and ensured permanent readiness of the emergency response team to oil spill response activities.
In the first quarter of the year, TSCP production laboratory was involved in air protection activities through performing air pollution measurements and analysis of samples taken at workplaces and in residential areas neighboring the port territory. The monitoring confirmed compliance of the air with quality standards.
To comply with the legislative requirements on production and consumption waste management the company was controlling accumulation and timely disposal of waste.
