Finnish Meyer Turku shipyard is going to build 8 cruise liners by 2025 (photo release)

The Finnish Meyer Turku shipyard is going to build 8 cruise liners by 2025, Tapani Mylly, Communication Manager at Meyer Turku, told journalists in Turku. According to him, the New Mein Schiff 1 will be delivered to TUI Cruises in 2018, New Mein Schiff 2 built for TUI Cruises and Costa 1 for Carnival – in 2019, LNG powered Carnival 1 – in 2020, LNG-powered Costa 2 – in 2021, LNG-powered Carnival 2 for Carnival and LNG-powered Icon 1 for Royal Carribean – in 2022, Mein Schiff 7 for TUI Cruises – in 2023, Icon 2 for Royal Carribean – in 2024.

According to Meyer Turku, the global backlog of orders for construction of ocean-going cruise liners numbers 72 units.
