Russian naval team set a record in international contest among military divers
A Russian team of the Russian Navy set a record during a stage of the Depth international contest – rescuing a submarine in distress, says press center of RF Defence Ministry.
A frogman jumps into water as a referee whistles, finds a special dummy model imitating a submarine, connect and air hose to an air line and give a sign as the air starts supplying to the sub.
The Russian military divers fulfilled the task in 2 min 25 sec. At present, it is the best result among all the three teams. Earlier, Syria and Venezuela had accomplished this task however in over 6 min each. Iran and South Africa teams have yet to pass this stage.
Earlier, the Iranian team had set a record during an another stage of the contest rescuing a surface ship: the time fulfill the rescue mission in 15 minutes.
The Depth international contest is held as part of the International Army Games 2018 on August 1–9. It is the first time as it is held in the Islamic Republic of Iran at the the Imam Khomeini Naval University of Nowshahr.
