From the beginning of 2018, OOO Multipurpose Reloading Complex (MRC, a company of UCL Holding) allocated some RUB 1 million for implementation of its environment protection measures, which is 58% less as compared with the same period in the previous year.
The company attributes the decrease to the following factor: reconstruction at the site of interim wastes accumulation was completed last year. In the first half of 2017, the company’s allocations for this project exceeded RUB 900,000 with the total value of the project exceeding RUB 1.3 million. The works performed as part of the programme on modernization of the terminal’s environmental facilities allowed the company improve its waste-tracking system.
In the reporting period (6 months of 2018), the company’s allocations for maintenance and technical servicing of environmental facilities totaled RUB 175,000.
Besides, more than RUB 290,000 were spent by MRC for waste disposal and for development of draft waste generation norms and waste disposal limits to ensure compliance with sanitary-epidemiological requirements.
The bulk of allocations – over RUB 500,000 – was spent for monitoring of air and natural/waste water quality as well as noise level at the border of the sanitary protection zone. The package of environmental control measures applied to the company’s handling operations involves the activities of the accredited laboratory. According to the specialists’ findings, MSC impact on the environment complies with the standards thereof.
OOO Multipurpose Reloading Complex (MRC, a company of UCL Port, stevedoring division of the international transportation group UCL Holding) is a cargo terminal in the port of Ust-Luga, Leningrad Region, specializing in unloading, storage and loading of exported and imported general and bulk cargoes. The main cargo is export power coal. In 2017, MRC LLC handled 5.5 mln t of cargo.
