Cargo traffic through Northern Sea Route reached 9.95 million tonnes year-to-date
Cargo traffic through the Northern Sea Route reached 9.95 million tonnes year-to-date, Yury Kostin, Deputy Head of Rosmorrechflot (Federal Marine and River Transport Agency), told IAA PortNews. As compared with the cargo traffic in same period of 2017 (5.5 million tonnes), it grew 1.8 times
In the reporting period, 307,840 tonnes of cargo was delivered to the port of Sabetta. Shipments of LNG and gas condensate from Sabetta totaled 3.95 million tonnes (vs zero shipments last year), shipments of general cargo - 57,790 tonnes.
Deliveries and shipments to/from the port of Dudinka totaled 847,800 tonnes (+1.5%), shipments from the Novoportovskoye field – 4.35 million tonnes (+17.7%).
The number of vessels sailing along the Northern Sea Route totaled 600 including 64 foreign-flagged ships.
