Aker Arctic told about autonomous ship model tests at Marinet Conference

When speaking at the Marinet Conference organized in partnership with Media Group PortNews and supported by RVC held at SMM-2018, Yukka-Pekka Sallinen, Development Engineer, Aker Arctic Technology Inc, told about autonomous ship model tests. According to IAA PortNews correspondent it was a model of a small passenger ferry .

“The route of the vessel was not preset but we developed a software for dynamic route planning under this project”, said Yukka-Pekka Sallinen.

“In the background of the whole autonomous system that combines together all devices and software components is Distributed Intelligent Vessel Components (DIVEC)”, he added.

The model successfully detected the obstacles and changed the route to moor at the model berth.
