Throughput of port Helsinki (Finland) in 8M'18 up 8.9% Y-o-Y to 7.67 million tonnes (table)

In January-June 2018, the Port of Helsinki (Finland) handled 10.05 million tonnes of cargo (+8.9%, year-on-year), the port authority says.

Transshipment of bulk cargo grew by 40.7% to 1,763,380 tonnes, container throughput grew by 6.9% to 340,510 TEUs. Turnover of trucks and semitrailers increased by 5.1% to 405,006 units.

Passenger traffic declined by 1.8% to 8.01 million passenger. The number of calls fell by 8.5% to 5,420.

The Port of Helsinki is one of the largest ports in Finland, the largest passenger port and the third largest in the Baltic Sea. The Port of Helsinki accounts for 77% of Finland's passenger traffic. In 2017, the port handled 14.27 mln t of cargo (+14.2%, year-on-year).
