Vladimir Bazhenov has been appointed Director of Sevastopol Marine Plant (Sevmorzavod shipyard, branch of Shiprepairing Center Zvyozdochka of the United Shipbuilding Corporation), Sevmorzavod said.
Igor Drey will still head representative offices of USC in the Republic of Crimea and in Sevastopol with supervising the development of shipbuilding and ship repair in the Azov-Black Sea region.
Vladimir Bazhenov was born in 1959 in Ust-Kamennororsk, graduated from Leningrad Shipbuilding Institute with specialization in naval architecture.
Vladimir Bazhenov started his carrier a Severnaya Verf. In 2000-2006, he held the positions of commercial, executive and general director of Vyborg Shipyard. In 2007-2009 – was in charge of Caspian Energy Group’s construction of a fixed platform for LUKOIL. In 2009-2011 - General Director of Nevsky Shipyard. In 2011 – 2013 - head of the representative office of Nordic Yards Holding GmbH. Over the recent 5 years – First Deputy to General Director of Baltiysky Zavod LLC ( company of United Shipbuilding Corporation).
Sevastopol Marine Plant (Sevmorzavod shipyard) was founded in 1783. In March 2015, the Government of Sevastopol and Russia's shipbuilding conglomerate United Shipbuilding Corporation signed a Memorandum on Cooperation with the purpose of reviving the company. Currently, the Zvezdochka's Sevastopol unit specializes in shipbuilding, ship repair, manufacturing onboard and industrial equipment, engineering and manufacturing of metal structures. The company is on the list of organizations of Russia’s defense industry complex.
