State Duma of the Russian Federation has approved in the second reading the draft law “On introduction of amendments into certain legislative acts of the Russian Federation (on participation of Rosatom Corporation in functioning of the Northern Sea Route”. According to the law, navigation of ships in the water area of the Northern Sea Route will be organized by Rosatom Corporation. Besides, Rosatom’s approval is needed in case of any construction in the zone of NSR aids to navigation as well as other issues like concession agreements and development of ports along the Northern Sea Route.
The State Duma of the Russian Federation approved the draft law in the first reading on 24 July 2018.
