Russian Railways says that loading of Russia’s export cargo bound for domestic ports grew by 4.5%, year-on-year, to 306.5 million tonnes in 2018.
In particular, coal loading grew by 3.6%, ferrous metal – by 8.3%, mineral fertilizers – by 2.1%, grain – by 25.5%, paper – by 11.7%, timber – by 15.6%.
Coal accounts for 46.6% of exports, oil – for 26.1%, ferrous metal – for 8.9%, fertilizers – for 6.7%, grain for 3.7%.
In the reporting period, loading of export cargo to the ports of the North-West Region exceeded 130.9 million tonnes (+5.7%, year-on-year), to the port of the Southern Region – over 76.4 million tonnes (+0.6%), to the ports of the Far East Region – about 99 million tonnes (+6%).
