Throughput of port Kaliningrad in 2018 grew by 2% Y-o-Y to 14.05 million tonnes

In 2018, the port of Kaliningrad handled 14,052,800 tonnes of cargo, up 2%, year-on-year, says Baltic Sea Ports Administration.

Transshipment of dry bulk cargo dropped by 21% to 2,416,200 tonnes including 1,187,000 tonnes of coal (+28%) and 9,200 tonnes of mineral fertilizers (up 3.3 times) and 1,192,100 tonnes of other cargoes (-44%).

Transshipment of dry loose cargo grew by 17% to 4,421,000 tonnes, general cargo – by 36% to 1,760,600 tonnes.

The port also handled 1,110,400 tonnes of cargo carried by ferries (-25%) and 3.08 million tonnes of liquid bulk cargo (-1%) including 1,759,000 tonnes of oil products (-1%), 535,400 tonnes of crude oil (-20%) and 747,900 tonnes of food cargo (+19%).

The port’s container throughput grew by 15.6%, year-on-year, to 276,429 TEUs.
