NIBULON’s shipbuilders jointed the bottom units of the shipyard’s longest vessel
NIBULON says its shipbuilders have moved to another stage of construction of the shipbuilding yard’s longest vessel (140-m self-propelled vessel), having jointed two bottom units of the parallel middle body that have been assembled at the shipyard.
The shipyard’s employees have jointed two bottom units with a total weight of 730 tons and length of 77 m, which is already more than half of the design length of the vessel. The shipbuilders continue forming the vessel’s forebody. The sections of units 11, 13, 15, 17 will be jointed soon, thereby increasing its length by 32 m.
At the same time, preparatory works are being performed to form the vessel’s afterbody. Upon installation of the pipelines, the sections of the remaining units 12, 14, 16, 18 with a total length of 31 m will be assembled.
Upon launching of the last two out of four POSS-115 project tugs, the shipbuilders will start forming port sections of the 140-m vessel on the building berth of NIBULON shipbuilding and repair yard.
The high-capacity self-propelled P-140 vessel with two cranes and a storage capacity of 10,000 tons will be added to NIBULON’s fleet this year. According to the estimates of the company’s specialists, with 3.5-4.0 million tons of cargo transshipment per year, the new vessel will provide unloading of about 2 million tons per year. It will also increase the daily productivity and efficiency of the company's cargo fleet while acting as a vessel for storage during the absence of foreign going vessels.
