Throughput of port Kaliningrad in Jan-Feb’2019 fell by 15% Y-o-Y to 1.98 million tonnes
In January-February 2019, the port of Kaliningrad handled 1,983,000 tonnes of cargo, down 15%, year-on-year, says Baltic Sea Ports Administration.
Transshipment of dry bulk cargo dropped by 14% to 313,500 tonnes including 197,500 tonnes of coal (+27%), 3,200 tonnes of mineral fertilizers and 108,300 tonnes of other cargoes (-48%).
Transshipment of dry loose cargo declined by 10% to 637,600 tonnes, general cargo – by 6% to 217,000 tonnes.
The port also handled 156,100 tonnes of cargo carried by ferries (-44%) and 459,600 tonnes of liquid bulk cargo (-21%) including 185,500 tonnes of oil products (-51%), 120,700 tonnes of crude oil (+51%) and 144,500 tonnes of food cargo (+25%).
The port’s container throughput grew by 22%, year-on-year, to 41,957 TEUs.
