Primorsk oil port’s throughput rose 5% in Jan-Mar to 14 million tonnes
Handling of liquid bulk cargo at oil port Primorsk in January-March 2019 totaled 14 031 900 tonnes, a 5% growth on Q1 2018, the Baltic Sea Port Authority statistics showed.
Volume of crude oil exports increased by 7% to 9,7 million tonnes and transshipment of petroleum products rose 2% compared to January-March 2018 to 4,331.5 tonnes.
In 2018 crude and oil product exports via the port fell 7% to 53.48 tonnes
Port Primorsk is Russia’s premier port in the country’s North-West region for crude oil and petroleum product exports. The port is located on the mainland of the Björkesund Strait of the Gulf of Finland, Baltic Sea, 5 km SE of the city of Primorsk.The Primorsk Oil Terminal is the terminus of the Baltic Pipeline System (BPS) and main pipelines Kstovo-Yaroslavl-Kirishi-Primorsk (North Project) and JSC Transnefteproduct.
