Krasnodonetsky hydrosystem to undergo capital repairs
Rostov branch of Glavgosexpertiza (Russia's Main Department of State Expertise) has conducted an audit of the cost estimates for the capital repair of Poiret truss elements of a navigation dam within North-Donets system of locks and issue a positive opinion, says press center of Glavgosexpertiza.
The system of hydraulic engineering facilities on the North-Donets river in the Rostov Region built more than one hundred years ago numbers six low-head facilities ensuring navigation for 208 km from the North-Donets mouth.
The Krasnodonetsky hydrosystem (or lock No 4) is located 50 km from the river mouth. Its structure consists of 89 metal Poiret elements and 540 wooden Boulé gates which are to be replaced during the reconstruction. The works are to be financed by the federal budget.
