On 4 June, the Arctic shuttle crude oil tanker Timofey Guzhenko took part in large-scale special tactical training exercise in the Barents Sea, Sovcomflot says in a press release.
The exercise involved units of the Federal Security Service and Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia, Murmansk Oblast EMERCOM, the Northern Fleet of the Ministry of Defence, the Northern Expeditionary Unit for Rescue Operations and the Northern Branch of the Marine Rescue Service.
The exercise allowed testing the interaction and coordination between the tanker crew and other participating teams.
Mikhail Gushchin, the master of the tanker, and its crew successfully completed the task, showing high professionalism and cohesiveness.
"Sovcomflot vessels take part in joint exercises on a regular basis, refining their interaction with rescue services and marine anti-terrorist agencies. Participating in these exercises helps our crews improve our internal security procedures and enhance crisis preparedness," said Yury Malyshev, Director of SCF Management Services (Saint Petersburg).
