Rostransnadzor launches pilot project on remote monitoring of water transport companies’ compliance with mandatory requirements
On 15 July 2019, Federal Agency for Transport Supervision (Rostransnadzor) embarked on the pilot project on remote monitoring of water transport companies’ compliance with mandatory requirements. Rostransnadzor says the monitoring will be held from 2019 and through 2020 parallel to independent scheduled and unannounced inspections.
The key goal of the project is to enhance security level at water infrastructure and transport facilities.
“The goal is to be reached through application of self-evaluation mechanism within the companies. That will enable them to reveal violations ant to undertake remedial actions thus preventing possible risk of transport incidents”, says the statement.
The pilot project also foresees the transition to a preventive model of supervision in the sphere of water transport – “continuous monitoring” with rejecting scheduled inspections.
Detailed information about “Pilot Project - Continuous Monitoring” is available in Russian at the website of Rostransnadzor.
