The terminal being designed as a part of Primorsky MRC project in the port of Primorsk (Leningrad Region) is supposed to offer fully closed transshipment of loose cargo, IAA PortNews correspondent cites Dmitry Temkin, Executive Director of the company, who told journalists that the transshipment facility would feature railcar dumpers, conveyor lines, loading machines, covered storage yard and equipment allowing for closed loading of cargo into vessels’ holds.
The system ensuring safety of closed coal storage will be based on R&D specially performed by Saint-Petersburg Mining University and approved by its expert commission.
The facilities of the complex will be located far from the residential areas. According to Dmitry Temkin, negative impact on the environment during the storage and transshipment of coal will be prevented completely.
As of today, the designing process is in its final phase. The investor is going to commence the construction in June 2022.
