MarineMax names two new general managers

Clearwater, Florida based MarineMax announced General Manager changes at MarineMax Pompano Yacht Center and MarineMax Wrightsville Beach.

“Please join us in congratulating Tyler Layton on his new role as General Manager of the Pompano Yacht Center,” states Paul Cummings, MarineMax Regional President. “He’s done an excellent job of growing the Wrightsville Beach location, most notably with the service center and delivering exceptional customer experiences.”

Tyler Layton joined MarineMax in 2016 as a Business Manager in Clearwater and later promoted to the General Manager of the Wrightsville Beach location. Before starting his career as an F&I Manager in the car business, Tyler served our country in the Army and has continued his service in the Reserves. Tyler and his family will relocate to the Pompano Beach area, and he will assume his new role on August 1.

“We would also like to welcome Cary Smart to the team in Wrightsville Beach,” says TJ Rose, MarineMax Regional President. “Cary has an extensive management career and a love for the water. We’re excited to have him on board. Please join us in congratulating both Tyler and Cary in their new positions.”

Carrington (Cary) Smart grew up in a family who enjoyed their summers boating on the shores of Kennebunkport, Maine. While attending college in Portland, Cary furthered his love of boating by exploring Casco Bay as well as the waters south. Later, he decided to relocate to the Sarasota area and to continue his career in the high-end car industry. Cary and his family have owned two Boston Whalers in the past and are in the process of relocating to the Wrightsville Beach area.
