Cargo traffic within Azov-Don Basin of Russia’s IWWs down 5% to 4.83 million tonnes in 7M’19
In January-July 2019, cargo traffic within Azov-Don Basin of Russia’s IWWs totaled 4.832 million tonnes (-5%, year-on-year), Azov-Don Basin Administration told IAA PortNews.
In the reporting period, transportation of transit cargo declined by 2% to 4.217 million tonnes, internal turnover fell by 22% to 615,000 tonnes.
By August 2019, Azov-Don Basin Authority registered 2,955 vessel movements including 1,415 downward and 1,540 upward (versus 2,966 in the same period of 2018: 1,435 downward and 1,531 upward).
In July 2019, cargo traffic within Azov-Don Basin fell by 3%, year-on-year, to 1.509 million tonnes. Transportation of heavy fuel oil accounted for 28.5%, wheat – for 15.4%, sulphur – for 14.8%. Transit cargo flow dropped by 4% to 1.246 million tonnes, internal turnover – by 3% to 263,000 tonnes.
In July 2019, Azov-Don Basin Authority registered 890 vessel movements including 479 downward and 411 upward (versus 853 in July 2018: 436 downward and 417 upward).
The total length of the waterways in the area of responsibility Azov-Don Basin Administration is 691.3 kilometers.
