New composition of the Marine Board of RF Government has been approved by RF Government’s Decree No2134-р dated 20 September 2019. The document has been published at the official portal for legal information.
The Board includes 12 new members with 11 members having left it and positions of five members updated.
The Marine Board of RF Government was established in 2001 to meet the challenges of the national maritime policy. It is a permanent body set up to coordinate the efforts of federal bodies of executive authority, regional executive bodies and other organisations in maritime activities.
The Board has the following responsibilities: to coordinate the activities of federal bodies of executive authority, regional executive bodies and organisations concerned with the preservation and promotion of Russia's marine potential; to promote maritime activities; to analyse the state, development and utilisation of the marine potential by other leading countries; to improve laws dealing with international cooperation; to protect Russia's interests in international negotiations on maritime activities; to perform other tasks to protect the country's interests in this sphere.
