Rosmorport commences construction of passenger ferry berth in Chukotka

FSUE Rosmorport commences construction of a passenger ferry berth on the left coast of the Anadyr liman, in the Ugolniye Kopi village. According to Rosmorport, the project will be implemented with the involvement of a contractor.

The works estimated at RUB 674.7 million will be financed by the federal budget with the completion scheduled for October 2021.

The project foresees the construction of three berths: a cargo berth, a passenger berth and a cargo/passenger berth with a total length of 145.5 meters including a ramp as well as coast protection slope with a total length of 155.7 meters. The scope of dredging foreseen in the quay apron is estimated at 3,667 cbm. Construction of one-storey administrative building and a check point is also foreseen by the project.

The new facility is expected to handle 6,000 units of wheeled equipment per year: 4,200 passenger cars and 1,800 trucks. The facility’s passenger turnover is to be as high as 20,000 passenger per year.
